| On one of our many jaunts out into the countryside, we found a beautiful
area, near Anna (off the Enguerra Road) that is perfect for an afternoon
out.
Many call it 'The Blue Lagoon', because of the crystal clear waters of
the large lake. The lake itself is fed by mountain streams, ensuring that
the water is always clear and blue - in fact, so clear that you can see
the golden carp swimming in the shallow waters.
The lake is bordered by many trees reminiscent of an English park, and
the ducks and swans that have made it their home complete the picture.
In the summer, there is a shallow lake on the other side of the road,
again fed by mountain streams ,where you can swim. Or take a rowing boat
out on the main lake if you are feeling more energetic!
There is a nice restaurant near to the picnic area, and a couple of lakeside
ice cream shops for refreshment. Or bring your own food and have a typically
English picnic, in a typically English setting in the heart of Spain!
There is also a camp site near to the lake.
How to get there:
Find Enguerra on the map (about 15 kms from Xativa - also spelt Jativa)
Travelling along that road, you will see a sign for Anna
As you come into Anna, you will see a sign pointing to Albefura and a
road on the left, just past a garage. The road leads to the Blue Lagoon
